via USPS priority mail..Like it says..will it be returned to me or can I call and have them add it on the package?Any help would be appreciated .

I made cookies for my husband who is deployed. I put them in ziploc bags and put a slice of bread in the bag with the cookies to absorb the moisture. How long will they stay fresh like this? I sent the package on Dec 3rd and he still has not received the package as of today Dec 16th. (I think it is just taking a little longer because of the holidays)
they are sugar cookies
last year i sent him cookies like this with the bread in the bag and when he got them about 10 days later he said they were fresh and soft……
