This is fashion
Fashion has such a weight and it is so antique that Seneca, a roman philosopher of the 1st century AD, once said “We live not according to reason but according to fashion”. What he means is that fashion shapes society not reason, and this is very much true. There isn’t any reason when fashion is involved because if there were then fashion would be dictated by reason and then it would become fashion less. Fashion predates reason. It comes from within and it rises and it shapes the world like some uncontrollable force. Fashion comes from the unconscious. It has to do with beauty and not with reason. If fashion was dictated by reason then it would all look the same. If fashion was dictated by reason then no one would pay the high sums asked for a dress, for a pair of trousers, for a handbag. If fashion was dictated by reason then Miu Miu bags would bore and unoriginal, no one would buy them, no one would replicate them. A replica MIU would not exist because original Miu Miu bags wouldn’t inspire someone to replicate them and anyone to buy them. Fashion comes from the sheer force of creation, from the deepest realms of imagination. Fashion inspires, fashion makes people spend thousands of dollars on a handbag, something that for a reasonable mind sounds like insanity. Fashion inspires others who try to copy it. Like a Miu Miu handbag is created and then comes a replica MIU which is sold at lower prices in markets, in stores, in the internet. This is the cycle of fashion, it will never die and we live happy in it. This is fashion.
A Romantic Week in Majorca
I had been searching for months for a really nice place to take my girlfriend for her birthday, when I saw a leaflet in our local newspaper advertising holidays to Majorca. I had never given the Spanish island much consideration before, but the photo’s in the brochure looked lovely. I started to investigate more seriously online, and everything I came across told me that I should book a holiday in this place. I had been seeing my girlfriend for a couple of years now and things were becoming quite serious between us. I really wanted to whisk us both off somewhere really special for a lovely romantic break.
I had been reading up about a place called Palma, which is the capital city of the island. It looked beautiful and so interesting. My girlfriend was a bit of a sucker for history so I decided to try and book us something in the capital city.
I had a search for holiday in Majorca and sure enough there were several really well priced trips to the capital. As soon as I saw one that had suitable accommodation for both of us, I booked it.
Our holiday to Majorca is one of the best we have ever been on. It is a truly beautiful island, and for anyone who is in a relationship it is somewhere that can really bring you closer as a couple. We shared so much in our week together in Majorca, and I am sure it is somewhere we will always go back to together.
