A frequent flyer
My job requires me to fly on a pretty regular basis. I’ve always enjoyed this aspect of my job, but over the last year or so something slightly strange has begun to happen. These days, I am finding myself a little bit scared when I fly! I never used to be – perhaps it is purely the number of flights that I have now taken. Anyway, this is not too much of a problem, but I have found the only thing that really helps me to overcome this is a few drinks on the plane. I am certainly not advocating getting drunk on a plane, but I do find that two or three drinks helps take the edge off the situation!
The only problem with this is that it makes things difficult when I come back from a meeting. I end up having a few drinks on the flight, only to land in Scotland, only to have to wait around for two or three hours, in order to make sure that I driving well within the limit. It occurred to me recently though, that there may be a better way than this.
I live about eight miles away from the airport, so I decided the best thing to do would be to get a taxi to and from the airport every time I flew. This way I wouldn’t have to worry about having the odd drink. I searched for taxi Edinburgh online and soon came across a company who specialised in this sort of thing. Not only that, the prices were great too and made it really worthwhile for me!
Ever since I have been doing things this way, flying has been fine for me. I still have the odd drink to calm my nerves, but I think the knowledge of the fact that I don’t have to drive at the end of it helps me through the flight!
