What is the best car hire company for us to use in America?
My friend and I are both 21 and are looking to road trip in America this summer (mid-June to early July) and we need to hire a car. Our journey takes us through Nevada, California and Arizona. We are travelling for 22 days. It is only us and we both intend to drive the hired car. Being aged 21-24 we are often subject to an additional charge per day. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Can anyone recommend a company which would be the cheapest for our situation?

What wheel is best for a touring bike used as a road bike?
I ride a Jamis Aurora. The spokes on the back wheel keep breaking and I am purchasing a new wheel later today. Should I get a regular/cheap touring wheel? What kinds of things should I look for in a new wheel?
I suppose I could put a road tire on it since I ride on roads to and from work all the time (30 miles round-trip) and do the occasional city excursion, but I like (I think) the stability of the touring bike tires/wheel.
Any and all recommendations, within a particular budget are very much appreciated.

How does a Canadian buy travel insurance outside of Canada?
I am a Canadian citizen, I pay my taxes and my medical bills on time and I am still considered a resident of Canada. I have been in China for over a year and my previous insurance ran out – which didn’t matter because I am covered in China by the school I work for. Now I have to go to Ghana for a week. I’d like to buy travel insurance, but all the sites I’m finding say that you must be in Canada to buy the insurance. I can’t go home first! What should I do?

What is the best location to pick up my car hire in Edinburgh area?
I’m planning a trip to Scotland in October and have an arrival at Edinburgh Airport. I’ll use a taxi to get to my hotel and after spending a few days in Edinburgh, I would like to hire a car and spend some time on a driving tour.
I understand Edinburgh is difficult to navigate, so should I plan to return to the airport to pick up, or would it be better to just pick up at Waverly Station?
Also, any thoughts on local companies (ie: AutoEurope, etc.) vs. a global company such as Avis or Hertz?
