Is it best to arrange car hire from here for Cyprus – Ayia Napa or to go there and do it?
Few of us are going to Larnaca region, Ayia Napa where we are to stay. Now, is it best to hire a car as taxi fares will be quite expensive, and if so shall we arrange before we go or to go and get it there?? Whichever would be cheaper…Thank you

The choice between a hire car or a taxi rather depends on what you want to do on your holiday. If you want to do the Ayia Napa experience of beach, clubs and great times with mates, you probably won’t want a hire car at all, and the police are very strict on drink/drive laws, so a taxi transfer will be much cheaper – and safer.
However, if you want to explore south Cyprus, or cross the border into North Cyprus (very close and well worth exploring), then a hire car is a must. So, go online, check out prices for both transfers (around Euro70 for up to 4 people, one way) and car hire prices, and see which is better for you.
Of course, if you just want a car for a couple of days, you can and it’s probably best to hire in in the resort where you can haggle for the best price. See the links below for great info on Cyprus car hire, south and North.
